Along with a new structure and strategic focus came a new team of medical and administrative staff. A stream of innovative programmes have been steadily introduced to provide patient-centred and holistic quality healthcare. An example of this is AH's Health for Life Centre which focuses its operations on pre-emptive health measures, such as health screening packages to identify those who are prone to illnesses and education programmes on lifestyle and eating habits.

Our People

The Courage Fund was set up on 11 April 2003 to honour our healthcare workers in Singapore, especially those who had fallen or suffered in the battle against SARS. The Fund drew an overwhelming outpour of support from the public and galvanized the entire nation and united all in steadfastness in the face of adversity.

The Fund is pleased to launch the Healthcare Humanity Awards as a continuing legacy of the dedication and courage of our healthcare workers. The Healthcare Humanity Award aims to recognise healthcare workers who exemplify the values of courage, extraordinary dedication, selflessness, steadfastness in ethics, compassion and humanity. These values underscore healthcare as a noble profession, and not merely a job. Through manifestation of these values, the awardee is someone who lives up to being "true to the calling" of a caregiver for the sick and the infirmed.
