• provide an opportunity for you to visit our hospitals to observe the operations of the Allied Health department;
• allow you to meet practising Allied Health Professionals to get in-depth understanding of their work; and
• expose you to actual patient-care situation in a hospital setting.
The Hospital Familiarisation Visits are open to students studying in the following Allied Health disciplines: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietetics, podiatry, diagnostic radiography, radiation therapy, pharmacy, medical social work, psychology, medical / laboratory technology, audiology, optometry, respiratory therapy and prosthetics & orthotics.
The visits will include an overview of the relevant Allied Health services in the hospital setting and a tour of the relevant departments.
You will interact and dialogue with Allied Health Professionals and get a chance to observe them in action with patients and in the relevant care teams.
In all, it is our hope that you walk away more resolute in your determination to join NHG as an allied health professional.
