Health Family Row & Roar Dragonboat Race 2007
NHG Dragonboat team

NHG successfully defended and won the Champion Trophy at the Health Family Row & Roar Dragonboat Race 2007. We also took home the First Runner-Up trophy.

The intensive competition on 31 March at Kallang Basin between NHG, SHS, MOH, HPB and HSA resulted in the finals with two NHG teams battling with the other Health Family boats.

We outrowed, outroared and outpaced our Health Family competitors to proudly receive the trophies from Minister of State for Health, Mr Heng Chee How.

Said Cheng Cheng, Senior Staff Nurse, TTSH, “I’m really so proud to say that we are the Champion! But the greatest joy is the team work. Everyone really did their best to attend all the training sessions and the senior rowers came earlier during training sessions to row and encourage the newbies.”

We wish to thank the following people for their support :

• Rowers and drummers – For the hard work you have put in training on Sundays! Sometimes even post night or after shift.

• Supporters – For your cheers and roar which definitely helped spur the NHG teams on.

• Sports conveners – For your help in publicising and spotting potential rowers in the corridors of our institutions to row for NHG!

• NHG Senior Management – For your continuous support to the NHG Dragonboat team in training.
